LeRoy Glenn Eickmann, age 83, Deshler, Nebraska passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Parkview Haven in Deshler. He was born December 7, 1928 to Richard and Hilda (Deterding) Eickmann near Deshler. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion of Deshler. He was a life long farmer. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dale Eickmann, nephew Jeff Eickmann, and brother-in-law Raymond Meyer. He will be forever remembered by his sister Lois Meyer, Deshler; sister-in-law Jeannette Eickmann, Orangevale, CA; nieces and husbands Susan and Dan Staehr, Lincoln, Sandra Meyer, Deshler, Lori and Steve Wright, Dublin, CA, Stephanie and Craig Miller, Rio Vista, CA, Jennifer and Chris Hostettler, Elk Grove, CA; nephews and wives Mitchell and Elena Eickmann, Surprise, AZ, Daniel Eickmann, Daly City, CA, Kelly and Barbara Eickmann, Clovis, CA, Matthew and Kerri Eickmann, Castro Valley, CA; aunts Ruth Deterding, Corde, MO, Esther Deterding, Friend, NE; many cousins and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Deshler with Pastor Brian Francik officiating. Burial was in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Organist was Joyce Schmidt with congregation singing Amazing Grace, Abide With Me, and What A Friend We Have In Jesus. Casket bearers were Karl Ludwig, Dennis and Andy Schmidt, Galen Sasse, Andy and Bill Staehr. Honorary bearers were Mitchell, Daniel, Kelly, and Matthew Eickmann. Memorials to the family for designation.
