Margaret
Esther Currey, the daughter of Ira and Fern (Deming) Currey was
born on December 16, 1913 in Hebron, Nebraska.
She passed away on June 11, 2010, at Blue Valley Lutheran
Nursing Home in Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 96 years, 5 months,
and 25 days.
Margaret
grew up in Belvidere and was a member of the Congregational Church
there. She was a
Belvidere High School graduate. She was united in marriage with
Alvin Herbert Paul on April 7, 1935, which was also her
grandparents wedding anniversary.
In 1939 Margaret joined the congregation of Bethel Church
of the Brethren, near Carleton where she was an active member for
many years. They lived on a farm in Thayer County all through
their lives until she moved into Terrace Gardens in Hebron.
Margaret, who was called “Mimi” by her grandchildren enjoyed
going to Arizona in the winters.
She also enjoyed Christmas, complete with Santa, visits
from family and M and M's.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alvin Paul, sister,
Bess Harmon, brothers, Myron Currey and Clinton Currey. She is
survived by her sons, Larry Paul and wife Mary of Shickley, and
Richard Paul and wife, Sharon of Davenport; grandchildren: Lynn
Bohling and husband, Alan; Melanie Jones and husband, Randy; Angie
Unruh; Beverly Paul and husband, Marcelo Morichi; Chris Paul and
wife, Lori; Jennifer Paul; and Allison Norder and husband, Mitch;
great-grandchildren: Sara Kresser, Jenny Simpson, Aaron Bohling,
Kaitlin Heavin, Tyler and Matthew Unruh, Demming and Kenna Norder,
Gabriela and Isabel Morichi, Jackson and Lauren Paul; great-great-granddaughter,
Kenzie Bohling; sister, Gladys Johnson of Acme, WA, sister-in-law,
Maxine Currey of Hebron.
